WHAT IS DOUBLE CLEANSING?

‘Double Cleansing’ is an extremely effective method to cleanse your skin. It involves first cleansing with an oil-based cleanser and then following with a light second cleanser (usually water-based or non-oil) to wash off remaining residue. 

The first clean with the oil-based cleanser is specifically targeted to do the heavy lifting - to remove and dissolve away heavy layers of impurities, dirt, SPF sunscreen and makeup. 

As SPF sunscreen and makeup are designed to stay on your face, taking the time to remove it with a little nurture and care for the cleansing process will go a long way to leave your skin balanced and supple. 

An essential part of double cleansing is that you are using oil to essentially clear out all those layers of heavy sunscreen and makeup so that your second cleanser does not need to work too hard to remove them. 

The second cleanse is needed to remove all residue from the first cleanse.

The result of double cleansing? Skin is left properly and thoroughly clean – Not stripped or dried out.

While it may sound like an effort to double cleanse,  you can experience significant improvement in your skin condition just from changing the way you cleanse. 

WHEN TO DO DOUBLE CLEANSING? CAN I DO DOUBLE CLEANSING EVERY DAY?

Generally, double cleansing is not necessary if you are not wearing SPF or makeup however it can still be beneficial thing to do if you find you have been sweating excessively and skin needs a good thorough cleanse to keep pores clear.

If you find your skin is too oily or dry, an oil cleanser is a great way to cleanse skin without stripping it dry of its natural oils.  Many of our customers have noticed significant improvement just by changing the way they cleanse.
