For the past year, our founder Annie and her husband Michael have shared letters and photos with their sponsored child in Ethiopia called Birhane.
She is now 8 years old (2019).
Together with Compassion - Australia's second largest child sponsorship organisation, they were given the chance to help free her from poverty.
When put into perspective, donating is a small price to pay and requires very little effort on our part, but in return means so much more to this little girl, her family and her community.
This year Zen Botanics has decided to increase our donations to Birhane and Compassion to make a lasting difference in the lives of children suffering from poverty.
Approximately 80 per cent of our donations go directly to benefit the children in the Compassion programs. This provides piece of mind knowing where our money is going.
There's nothing better than knowing you're making a real difference in the life of a child living in poverty.
Compassion is a child child advocacy ministry working in partnership with local churches to foster the spiritual, economic, social, physical and emotional development of over 1.4 million children living in extreme poverty. More than 100,000 of these children are currently supported by over 73,000 Australian sponsors. For more information, visit www.compassion.com.au
